our private camp the address at top of this page , make sure it’s bringing you 6 miles west of Kinder Louisiana for 2025 we’re letting everyone drive to our private launch, low riding vehicles cannot make the half mile private road, park near the paved retreat Rd outside of our gate , you can see large shipping containers park near asphalt ,someone can shuttle you in from there. From our private camp location to river front launch is now barley
1/2 mile east via private dirt rd . Due East of shipping containers into the woods !
@ certain times of the year this is an awesome walk if you prefer not to drive your truck to the private launch. Wagons, backpacks, etc. Yes, you can carry your own backpack. You do not have to rent a cooler float to make this tour!
For safety and logistics we require everyone to park outside of our gate near the U.S. flag next to retreat Road, which is asphalt .
unless your Repeat customers or experience mappers parking at the takeout saving five dollars per item on many of the rentals.this option is for safety #one , savings and convenience !
with our southern position near the gulf often evening thunderstorms, come in and muddy up our private rd .

Day trip very close to 5 miles long at normal summer low.
as of 2025 the peninsula see above, and below has been cut through by floodwaters ,** at certain low levels the approx, 3/4 mile the slow or no flow lake is not fun *** ! If Tubing do not take the old route! Use the short route !
Typically the short route is the best route !
as of spring 2025 there is a flag pole & silver camper at shirt tail camp ,this is a good reference for 1/2 way point of day trip , be aware there are no signs on the scenic river !** This is not a hwy with signs !
To be able to know when you’ve been halfway on this short trip is sufficient ! Anything more precise we have GPS coordinates at the top of this page .
Again, this is a scenic river people that litter are Barred From Service ! We’re not in service to please every single person , we provide service to people that respect the natural beauty of this scenic stream with an abundance of natural beaches all subject to public use , there are plenty !
We no longer serve folks that are not mature enough to bring their own trash bag. If you don’t have a trash bag, what did you intend to do with your litter? Don’t loose time if you forgot some , there are Dollar stores in Reeves & kinder , or message us we should have some available, we buy the good ones & no longer provide them for free !
For more than 20 years, we tied trash bags to every canoe & tube cooler float , have also spent years recovering unused empty trash bags that can kill fish ! please learn to be responsible , keep litter in its place and appreciate everyone’s time & space , we are here for anyone that comes out to peacefully relax while respecting the Natural beauty of the streams that must be preserved for future Generations !

This is the end of Whisky chitto , at this point it’s one mile to the take out described in photo below.our normal schedule take out times are 3pm to 5 pm , if you plan to exit sooner or later please let let us know so that we are at the take out point before you get there .

South Quiska (whis-ka) Chitto River tours See Two Rivers in one tour .
Day Trips : our most popular day trip is 5 river miles long an average canoe can navigate this in less than two hours ,It is best enjoyed using most of the day partaking of the scenery beaches & secluded swimming holes along the way.
River Tubing:
Many prefer tubing over canoeing , Via River tube this 5 mile tour averages 3 hours of non stop float time at best level , as the summer heat & typical droughts lowers the river level float times become longer , if inexperienced ask for advice!
Day trip fee ½ or full day rental fee is the same cost , it’s up to you if you wish to make a day of it or a quick tour.
Payment Method :Cash ** or notice easy pay “pay now button ” upper left of page pre-pay & SAVE on repeat Tours ! Keep in mind We don’t issue refunds.

We also have cooler or supply rafts rent for $25.00 a day as of 2023 we’ve added a smaller raft for $2o a day .
as previously stated a half-day trip or an all day trip cost the same. The work is the same. It’s the exact same trip !
As of 2025 we are enforcing 5 pm as latest takeout time for day trips !
It’s at renters discretion if they want to take it slow & stop along the way or float non stop so you can exit early , or show up later than 10:am but before noon !
if we provide service going south afternoon. There is an additional five dollar per person late fee.!
There is also a $5 per person late fee if arriving at take out after 5:00 pm . This is a safety issue !
There are other options to avoid these late fees if showing up too late to make the day trip getting out before 5:00PM.
if you arrive at the takeout at 5 PM during prime season there will be enough daylight to get you safely on your way home before dark. Safety always #1 over anyone’s feelings!
it’s unpredictable to know when pm: thunderstorms are coming , furthermore floating down the creek when you can’t see properly creates numerous hazards we strive to avoid!
cannot express enough this is a safety issue we care about you ! If a thunderstorm causes you to exit after 5 of course we wave the late fee !
We understand extenuating circumstance, and are well aware of tall tales. We know the difference ! , if for any reason you’re held up past 5PM let us know as soon as possible. We appreciate your patronage and Will provide service to anyone that appreciates everyone’s time !
if you desire to be on the creek, when the sunsets short of serving yourself using our launch with your own equipment or some other way such as paddling north of our main lunch site , camping is an option !
